McGovern Irish Dance: Wrapping Up Our Green Season!
March has come and gone, but what a month it was! At McGovern Irish Dance, we embraced our 2024 theme—In Our Green Era—with open arms, sharing the magic of Irish dance far and wide. From the heart of Dayton, OH, to Lafayette and Fort Wayne, IN, and all the way to Troy, OH, our dancers took the stage to bring Irish culture to life for audiences of all ages.
A Month of Performances & Community
Our Green Season Tour was nothing short of spectacular. We kicked off the month with a high-energy performance at Carroll High School’s St. Patrick’s celebration and kept the momentum going with appearances at AOH, Lutheran Life Villages, and Legacy Village. The St. Patrick’s weekend was a whirlwind of music, movement, and joy as we brought Irish dance to Amvets, Indian Lake Moose, Moeller Brew Barn, and many more incredible venues.
Of course, St. Patrick’s Day itself was the heart of our Green Season. From schools to private parties and the big stage at Dublin Pub, our dancers gave it their all, lighting up every stage with their talent and passion. Whether it was a cozy community performance or a roaring pub crowd, the energy was electric, and we couldn’t be prouder! We also had a fantastic performance at Carroll Manor in Lafayette, IN, bringing Irish dance to even more wonderful audiences.
Welcoming New Dancers!
In the midst of all the celebrations, we also opened our doors to brand-new dancers through our Free Irish Dance Days at the Dayton and Lafayette studios! It was incredible to see so many new faces stepping into the world of Irish dance, whether they were tiny beginners in our Jump’n Jig program or enthusiastic newcomers to our MID family. Watching their excitement as they took their first steps was a true highlight of the month.
Feis Season is Here!
Even with all the performances, our dancers have been hard at work preparing for competition season. The Birdy Open Feis is just around the corner on April 5 in Northville, MI, and we can’t wait to see our students shine on stage! We know their dedication and love for Irish dance will be on full display.
